Kinda want to give them a hard time about it but I do understand it isn't their fault and it does require labor on their part. If you own a TDI, you need this tune. I was kind of disappointed that my mileage didn't increase at all afterwards. The APR tune peaked at 2000rpm and sharply dropped as the RPM passed 3k. I had made the trip before, took the same route and drove the same way and found no mileage improvement at all. I would think car modifications after the mid 2000’s would have classified any upgrades to cars as an immediate decrease in value.

I do have the delete so that may have a lot to do with the better mpg. Regens were more frequent. I did the stage 2 tune along with the delete a few months ago. my malone stage 2 gets me about 45-47mpg at 80mph highway speeds over distance (provided minimal elevation changes) I wonder why I'm not getting that good of mpg. He was seeing 25 MPG on short trip driving in the winter. I'm going to stop back this week and see if I now have readiness so I can at least get it inspected. For a while everything seemed good.then my mpg started to drop and then I got cel for things that should have been deleted. I had the car for about 2 months so my base line is short. I am also straight piped to a gas beetle dual exhaust muffler. I have about 72k miles on the car now. Mileage went from 37 up to 42. A newer version really should be better, not worse. A few MPG isn't worth losing your warranty over.

Really wakes the car up. Tuning doesn't really lower your fuel mileage unless you always have your foot into it. I stopped back at the dealer at around 350 miles and they checked to see if I had readiness which I did except for the emissions one. My usual commute is 60 miles round trip to/from Boston in heavy rush hour traffic. Pure awesomeness. My trip computer says 50 mpg, but my manual calculations give only 38 mpg. This is the 3rd car I’ve had tunes by Malone, always such a huge difference, mpg are better, performance is greatly improved. Malone Stage 2?
