This is what I did for the first year or so of owning my M570 after retiring my 2nd Trackman Wheel.This second option will void your warranty, take a knife and carefully shave a bit of plastic of the trackball opening in the mouse. The ball even stays in place when you turn it upside down.

Its good for getting your mouse moving again.

Because the trackball doesn’t move, it’s perfect for tight workspaces and busy desks. Late to the party, but do not lubricate your ball. Are they roller bearings or are they some sort of PTFE/delrin plastic on plastic?
